Joy Christian Radio’s Song of the Week: 

Evie sings “Give them all to Jesus.”  Recorded live at a Billy Graham Crusade during the mid 1970’s.

Appearing at a Billy Graham Crusade, she walked onto stage and into the hearts of Americans and people from all over the world.  I’m referring to an 18 year old girl who stunned America with her incredible voice and her ultra-sincere love for life and for the Messiah all the way back in the mid 1970’s.  She was as beautiful as she was talented and she sang her heart out for Jesus!

I’m referring to a wonderful Norwegian-American recording artist whose name was only known to us as “Evie” for a very long time.  Evelyn (Evie) Tournquist Karlsson stole our hearts and brought us into the very presence of the Messiah as she sang for Jesus.

Evie recorded some 59 albums her lifetime.   She retired from singing publicly to get married to a wonderful man of God, Pelle Karlsson.  Together they raised a family and stayed actively involved in the Kingdom work.

In later years, Evie and Pelle became heavily involved with “Sky Angel,” a “before its time” satellite then Internet streaming service that provided all Christian and family-friendly Television.  Over the past decade, Evie has begun to sing her classic tunes again, mostly with the Gaither Homecoming group, but she has also recorded some projects lately including her “Songs from the Hymnbook” project back in 2013 that gets lots of airplay still today.

A special friend and a special and talented singer and woman of God, we’re thrilled to present the Song of the Week from Joy Christian Radio by Evie.  This recording goes way back to the Billy Graham Crusade held during the 1970’s.
