News Headlines – Helloween banned

Editorial  By: Ed Smith

It is my (very unpopular) opinion that Christians should not celebrate Helloween.  OK, the spelling of the name of this popular “holiday” was deliberate.   You see, I believe this “holiday” is best spelled in such a manner that it identifies the its true nature of what the celebration is really all about.  The bottom line is that nowhere in Scripture are Christians encouraged to celebrate satan, witchcraft, the occult, demons and the like — ever; not even if it is just “good, clean fun for the kiddos.”  In fact, the exact opposite is true.  Scripture clearly instructs us to avoid teachings and practices of witches, demons and all other such “goblins.”

Halloween (the name and its practices) originated with a pagan celebration called “Samhain,” a Gaelic word pronounced “sow-win.”  Samhain is still, to this day, a pagan religious festival originating from an ancient Celtic spiritual tradition.  It is usually celebrated from October 31 to November 1 to welcome in the harvest and usher in “the dark half of the year.”  Celebrants believe that the barriers between the physical world and the spirit world break down during Samhain, allowing more interaction between humans and denizens of the Otherworld.  (Source:  Wikipedia)

The following quote is taken from “the seven satanic holidays” and is #6 on the list:  “Samhain, 31st October: Pronounced as Sow-Han, this holiday is known to many others as Halloween or all hallow’s eve. It is the moment when the ‘veil’ is lifted between the physical and the spiritual world. It is often celebrated by Satanists as one of the most fun times of year! …”   Source:  Spiritual Satanists blog.

This is the holiday that many Christians celebrate.  Some keep the pagan tradition of celebrating the harvest, some still have the kids dress up as they wish, everything from demons to devils to witches to ghosts to zombies to about everything else under the sun.  But, is this just “good fun for the kiddies?” Or, is it evil?  The answer to that question is crystal clear all throughout Scripture.

This story was in the news last week, and it would be kinda funny, except it’s just another example of our freedoms being stripped away in the USA – one freedom lost at a time!    I should mention that I believe that freedom as identified by the First Amendment means freedom for all people and all practices.  Somebody said if that is true, then devils will run the world.  I respond by saying “only if Christians don’t exercise their freedom to pray and trust God.”  Here’s that news story I mentioned.

“Halloween has been banned by some schools in New Jersey.

“All of us realize that this breaks with what the district has usually done, and that can be a difficult thing to do sometimes,” said Dr. Kevin Gilbert, the “assistant superintendent of access and equity” at a South Orange, New Jersey school.

The districts sent a letter to parents explaining that the beloved tradition of dressing up like the devil was being cancelled in an effort to promote “diversity, equity and inclusion.”  Source for News Story: Todd Starnes

{Ed’s Editorial Comment}  So, lemme see. satan’s cronies have banned satan’s holiday because they don’t want to offend those who celebrate perversity. Bahahahaha. I’m laughing at the superior intellect of some people.   It’s quite obvious that satan’s followers are not all in unison after all.

It is my opinion that the Christian Church, if we want to send a Godly message to the world about the celebration of satan’s “holiday,” should have a “Hallelujah Worship God Alone Celebration” on October 31 where we sing and preach the Word and repent of our sins … and continue doing this until November 1.  I can’t think of a single better way to run satan back to hell where he belongs, can you?
