Please pray for Danny Funderburk, the former tenor singer for the Cathedrals Quartet.  Danny sat on a deck chair that was on soft soil and the rear legs of the chair sank into the mud, tossing him backwards where he took a bad hit on the head.  Danny had a stroke some time back, and they are now testing him to be sure he hasn’t had another one.   Danny and his wife, Shelley have a solo ministry where they travel and sing.  Danny is a good friend of Joy Christian Radio.
UPDATE:  Danny is doing much better, but still has a lot of recovery that is yet to come. Please continue to pray!

Please pray for Brian Chrisagis, half of the Christian Singing Group, The Chrisagis Brothers.  His twin brother, Shawn Crisagis passed away a few weeks ago suddenly of a massive heart attack.  Brian is having a particularly difficult time as a twin who was suddenly left behind.  The two of these brothers were inseparable. Brian said, “I’m not grieving over where Shawn Chrisagis is… I have no question he is in heaven. I just cant get past the grieving.”  Please lift him up in prayer.

A dear friend from Dunlap, Tennessee says this, “With a diagnosis of a 4% chance to live 6 months, back on September 13, 2002, I underwent a melanoma surgery, the fourth one in 15 months. But our gracious Lord had other ideas.  I’m still here today.  How can I say thanks to my great Savior and Healer and to all my friends and family who prayed me through those days? You are all special and I love you. May God bless you.
Thank God for answered prayers!

There are several people that have requested prayer for heart problems on our list today.  Some are in the process of testing to determine the problem, one awaiting an EKG that is somehow tangled up in red tape and praying that they can get it soon, one person has had a massive heart attack and is not expected to live, another has congestive heart failure that has moved towards the final stages, a lady in Tennessee had a heart attack yesterday but the test results haven’t come back yet so we don’t know how bad it was and two older men are having chest pains, both are in the hospital and awaiting testing.  Please pray for all these people!  They didn’t want names mentioned.

Three people have requested prayer for cancer or treatments related.

A pastor / friend’s mother in Georgia had hip replacement on both hips.  She was dismissed from the hospital and is now back home recuperating.

A woman in Georgia is in the midst of unimaginable family problems.  She is caretaker for her very sick husband and her elderly parents and now is having severe financial problems to boot.  She said to me, “I TRY my best to believe, that God has a plan for me. I know HE does. I just can’t see it. And yet there is so much more. But I feel like, my insides are being pulled apart. And I am drowning!”  I cannot begin to tell you how many people who are depressed and feel there is no reason for them to keep on living.  Depression is not a “spiritual problem,” it is very real, as real as any physical illness that mankind suffers with.  Please pray and encourage someone who is depressed.  It could be the difference between life and death.  And, always remember, “if not for the Grace of God, there go you or I.”

Pray for a lady who was one of my “camp kids” many years ago who just had double mastectomies and now has had to have part of a lung removed due to breast cancer.  She is home and recovering, but the recovery will be long and painful.

Brother Ed’s cousin who is 80 years old was hit by a car at Walmart three weeks ago.  She was blessed not to have broken bones.  It seems that one car pinned her between another car and that one as they backed out of a parking space.  She is home and doing better, but very much pain continues.  Her name is Geneva.

From a friend in Georgia (name redacted):
“Well I hesitated to put this on Facebook but here goes.
I had surgery on my foot in June of this year. My foot is healing nicely the x rays are good. Hopefully I will be able to walk around without pain! Praise the Lord for that!!!
But here is the big prayer request.
Since May I have had a sickness spell that I thought was a virus, reaction to the surgery on my foot, and other symptoms. The doctors found an aneurysm on my aortic valve I thought that was it. But it is not growing or changing. The surgeon just said we would watch it. Praise the Lord for that!!!
I went back to the ER last Friday with a splitting headache, upset stomach, dizziness and they gave me meds for those. But the meds really did not touch it. I had a CT Scan and MRI and there the doctors said I had a mass/tumor on my brain. I was in shock to say the least. I’m still in shock most days. I will undergo surgery soon to remove most or all of that mass/tumor. I will be in the neuro ICU unit for that time and hope I will be moved to the floor and then I can come home. Please pray for peace and comfort during this time.”

From a friend (name redacted)
“I had a long evening today.  About 5:30, I decided to cut up some potatoes to cook for supper.  When I pulled the sack of potatoes down on the counter, I bumped the knife on the counter and it fell to the floor and bounced up and went into my leg a few inches above the ankle, all the way to the bone.  I’m a diabetic and on blood thinners, so that was really dangerous.  I finally got someone over here to help me, but by then the kitchen had blood all over the place.  I couldn’t manage to stop the bleeding until I got to ER.  I’m stitched up now and doing better, but it surely is painful.  Please pray for me.

A pastor’s wife and a long-time friend says, “(my husband) got a good report at the neurosurgeon.  His MRI showed no growth (from the brain tumor that was removed a few weeks ago).  He will begin targeted radiation after the first of the year.  Another MRI is planned in December. Thank you for your prayers!  God has heard them and we are blessed. We love you all.”

From a friend in South Carolina:
After 25 days in the hospital, my brother is now at home!  Praise God!

Please pray for our friend, Jerry Kelso, who formerly played piano for the Dove Brothers, Dixie Melody Boys, JD Sumner And The Stamps Quartet, The Singing Americans and who now plays occasionally for the Cavalier’s Quartet in Lynchburg, TN sends this report on his health:
“The Cervical Spine MRI showed I have multiple bulging discs due to Degenerative Disc Disease.
I have been referred to an orthopedic doctor and I will know more after that about surgery or not.
Even though my walking has been affected and my shoulder, shoulder blade, arm, hands and fingers with the paresthesia which is referred pain I believe maybe I can do some physical therapy or step it up on the exercising or massaging and maybe get the pain out and the numbness and weakness etc. so I can play the piano again.
